Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re new to Exhale or unsure where to begin, Intuitive Massage Therapy is usually the best place to start. It’s our most flexible option and can be shaped around your needs that day—whether you’re seeking relaxation, therapeutic attention, or a thoughtful combination of both.

Choose Craniosacral Therapy for gentle, subtle, nervous-system-focused care with little to no traditional massage.

Choose Nervous System Restore when stress, burnout, pain, or overwhelm have left you feeling depleted and in need of deeper restorative support.

Choose Targeted Relief for focused therapeutic work addressing chronic tension, restricted movement, injury recovery, or persistent discomfort.

Still unsure? Your therapist will check in with you and help shape the session around your needs.

Before your appointment, you’ll complete a confidential intake form so we can learn more about your health history, preferences, and what brings you in. At the beginning of your session, your therapist will take a few minutes to talk with you about how you’re feeling, areas you’d like addressed, and anything you would prefer to avoid.

Your session will be shaped around your needs that day. You’re always welcome to ask questions, request adjustments, or simply relax quietly.

Not at all. You should undress only to your personal comfort level. You’ll be given privacy to get settled, and professional draping will be used throughout the session so that only the area being worked on is uncovered.

Some techniques may also be performed through clothing. Your comfort and sense of safety always come first.

Absolutely. We welcome your feedback before and throughout the session. Please let your therapist know if you would like more or less pressure, additional attention somewhere, or a different approach.

Pressure should feel productive without making you brace, hold your breath, or feel unsafe. Communication helps us create a session that truly supports your body.

We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments changed or cancelled with less notice may be charged 50% of total service price. Missed appointments may be charged the full service price.

Please review the complete cancellation policy when booking.

Exhale does not bill insurance directly. We’re happy to provide a detailed receipt upon request that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies, so we recommend contacting your provider before scheduling.

We accept HSA and FSA cards for eligible massage therapy services. Because individual plans and eligibility requirements vary, we recommend checking with your plan administrator before your appointment. We can provide a detailed receipt upon request.

Gratuities are never required or expected. The best way to support your therapist is by returning when you need care, recommending Exhale to someone you love, or leaving a thoughtful review. If you do choose to leave a gratuity, it is always sincerely appreciated.

Depending on the service and therapist you choose, you may be able to enhance your appointment with hot stones, cupping, sound therapy, a botanical scalp ritual, or a grounding foot ritual.

Available add-ons can be selected while booking. Some services already include certain enhancements, so you won’t need to add them separately. You can also request add-ons when you arrive for your appointment.

Massage can be a supportive and nurturing form of care during pregnancy. Please let us know that you’re pregnant when booking so your therapist can make appropriate positioning and technique adjustments.

If your pregnancy is considered high-risk or you have medical concerns, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before scheduling.

You can park in either the front lot or back lot behind the building, or on the street if the lots are full. Please allow a few extra minutes before your appointment to find parking and arrive without feeling rushed. Parking may be limited during the lunch hour, on weekends, and on sunny days when the neighboring café is busiest.
